Fr. Oscar Coelho, a priest of the Archdiocese of Santa Fe, in Santa Fe, New Mexico, spent three days (March 5-7) in Pueblo for a Lenten Mission at St. Joseph Catholic Church. While here, Fr. Coelho spoke of the meaning of Lent and infused humor in his homilies for the parish faithful who turned out to hear him.

Fr. Coelho was ordained a priest in May 2008 after finishing his seminary at Mount Angel in Oregon. His first assignment was as an Associate Rector at the cathedral for two years and was then appointed as a Pastor of Sacred Heart Parish in Espanola.

Fr. Oscar was sent to Rome from where he finished his Licentiate in Canon Law from the Pontifical University of Saint Thomas Aquinas (Angelicum), in 2014. At present, Fr. Oscar is the Judicial Vicar for the Archdiocese of Santa Fe as well as the pastor of San Martin De Porres in Albuquerque. Apart from this two ministries, Fr. Coelho enjoys reading material on canon law and John Grisham novels, watching movies and skiing.
