CCW at the Chrism Mass (April 8)
On Tuesday, April 8, 2025, The Chrism Mass was held at the Cathedral of Sacred Heart in Pueblo. Bishop Stephen Berg was the celebrant.
Below, the St. Joseph's Council of Catholic Women (CCW) helped out serving drinks and food with other councils from various churches in Pueblo after the Chrism Mass.
St. Joseph parishioneers Nadine and Ismael Triste collected the blessed oils for our parish at the Chrism Mass.
Diocesan District and Affiliate Council of Catholic Women all helped set up the Chrism Mass.
Have you wondered what is the Chrism Mass?
It is when the bishop, joined by the priests of the diocese, gather at the Cathedral to celebrate the Chrism Mass. This Mass manifests the unity of the priests with their bishop.
Here the bishop blesses three oils — the oil of catechumens (oleum catechumenorum or oleum sanctorum), the oil of the infirm (oleum infirmorum) and holy chrism (sacrum chrisma) — which will be used in the administration of the sacraments throughout the diocese for the year.
