Following the tradition of Canon Law, Bishop Berg has submitted his retirement letter to Pope Leo XIV as he turns 75. He’ll stay on to serve our diocese until a successor is named.
This comes at a busy time for our area, as the Bishop of Colorado Springs, James Golka, became the new Archbishop of Denver last week.
Bishop Berg asks for prayers for him and for Pope Leo during the search for his successor. He plans to stay right here in Pueblo after he retires, hoping to continue helping out in new and creative ways.
Thank you, Bishop Berg, for all your years of service and leadership!

The Chalice for Vocations ministry was developed to promote fervent and devotional prayer for an increase in vocations to the priesthood and religious life. These specific intentions are raised as the chalice travels within the parish community.
